Justboom Amp Zero

I've been using this board for over 3 months now in my bedroom system and am very happy with how well it works. I'm using this with a Pi Zero W and Picore Player, driving a pair of ProAc Tablette Reference 8 speakers and it sounds very good. I highly recommend this board. If you're on the fence, just buy it. I'm sure you'll be pleased as well.

Awesome sound

Been using this for about a week now and it sounds awesome. Setup was straightforward. Who knew good things came in small packages? :)

If you review this product on the justboom website, you'll see 6 reviews, all are five stars. Twice they blocked my one star review. Think about that when you order this product.
The only use I can find for this is if you need to keep pipes from freezing. It will heat to very hot temperatures. I got two months of use before it eventually shorted. The just boom support team was anything but supportive, and ignored my requests for assistance - continuing to re-open the ticket before letting it expire again and again.
Ameridroid was not much better. A one and done purchase from this operation.
Let's see if this review gets posted or will i be amp zero for three?

Let me start by expressing my condolences for your experience.

In the Maker community, it is expected that the end user may tinker with any and all components they purchase from us. However, certain types of tinkering can lead to damaging a single product or causing cascading damage through other connected products/components. This type of tinkering cannot be covered under warranty for obvious reasons.

This is a rather abnormal case. Here are some of the factors we have to consider before approving a warranty claim:

1. You ordered a similar product on Mar 17, 2018, decided it wasn't the correct part for your application, and we sent you this product at your request on Mar 26, 2018. We even covered the return shipping expense. After that, we only heard from you the first time on Nov 10, 2018. That is 7 months later, which is well beyond the stated warranty period on our 'Payments & Returns' page.

2. The product has been heavily damaged. In our inspection, it looks like most of this damage was caused by attempted modifications. The 40-pin header housing was removed, 6 of the header pins were desoldered, C37 (surface-mount capacitor) was missing, the barrel jack had been removed, L5 had been damaged, J1 had been heavily damaged (visual inspection looks like it was caused by a soldering iron), and both of the large filter capacitors had been removed. A number of those mods could have caused the problems you experienced.

Unfortunately, we cannot process a warranty claim that is accompanied by all these contributing factors. We have sold dozens of these units and have not had a single claim to support a potentially defective product design.
