Superior interface; quality is much of a desired

Ordered 3 of them early Nov'21 from ameriDroid (Shelly) store. Two of them are functional. Those functional ones do have reach interface, presents fine diagnostics (Json), power usage, so one can write/adopt some software easily and really enjoy the product features.

The one that did not work, did not allow to perform the reset while using the power button. For that one, online presents an article where (some unhappy customer) describes scripting that, basically, retries resetting the plug settings, until reaching the success response.

Giving 4 stars for the approach and functionality. Would give 2 star for quality and supply.
End of November 2021 was looking to order more, but there is a shortage in supply and the ETA is not known. Website chat feature is kind of unresponsive in that matter. Haven't tried talking to customer service, but not expecting miracles there.

So that's that.
At this point, I'm getting closer to find some alternatives, if nothing changes soon.

Thanks for your honest review. The supply shortage is due to two factors. (1) Worldwide component supply shortage, and (2) due to issues reported by customers, the product is undergoing a complete redesign to address those issues and make for a better overall product. The new version is due to be ready in early 2022.

Avoid these until they fix production issues

I ordered 4 of these from Shelly directly and 2 are DOA. They did offer replacements but replacements are ship mid Dec. So I ordered 6 more from Ameri-Droid since my 2 working are great power monitors and they are in stock. However 3 of the 6 are DOA with the same hang on connect to AP issue. And there is signs this is happening to others.

Something is clearly wrong with shipping firmware or the hardware itself. Now I have to go through the steps to get 3 more replaced. At a 50% hit rate I would avoid these at present. Honestly worried if a hardware component issue my working ones will eventually die.

I just spoke with Doug Roberson, CTO of Allterco Robotics who said:

This customer's experience is the exact opposite of what we wish to provide. There is no excuse for the problems he's having and we'll make it right.

I will personally test and ship 6 replacement units to the customer by the end of the week, along with a personal apology and a surprise to show our appreciation.

That doesn't make up for the bad experience, but I hope it lets him know we take it seriously.
