Add wireless capability to your ODROID or other SBC!  Also compatible with Windows, Mac, Desktop Linux, Raspberry Pi, Banana Pi and more!  No driver needed for most systems, including Windows! Some non-ODROID systems running Android will not work without having this driver added in during the compile process.

The Realtek RTL8188CUS-GR is a highly integrated single-chip Wireless LAN (WLAN) USB2.0 network interface controller compatible with the 802.11n specification. It combines a MAC, a 1T1R capable baseband, and RF in a single chip. The RTL8188CUS provides a complete solution for a high throughput performance wireless client.

INCLUDES

  • IEEE 802.11b/g/n 1T1R WLAN module with antenna
NOTES
  • Not compatible with Android on Pine64 SBCs - Android requires drivers to be installed at compile-time
  • Some Linux systems may benefit from a patch if there are stability issues, available at https://github.com/pvaret/rtl8192cu-fixes
  • Systems with only a microUSB port available will need a USB OTG adapter cable to use this item.
  • Product may differ from pictured unit as the design changes from time-to-time.

Works great - with a Raspberry Pi

I plugged it into a Raspberry Pi Model B and run raspi-config to set up the WiFi. No problems and I get a link quality of 100/100 as reported by iwconfig even a floor between it and the router. I made a video too.

Wifi drivers may give you grief.

When I got this I thought it was faulty, but it really was the drivers. I used this on a C2, the XU4, and even a desktop LMDE install.
The network would frequently disconnect and even cause the OS to almost freeze up in cases. I didn't see it having problems in the Android variants for Odroid, but the Linux versions had issues.
After reading on the web . I found many others have had that same problem with this wifi chip used in this. I finally found a patch on gethub that fixed that problem here:
    https://github.com/pvaret/rtl8192cu-fixes.
Once it was working it worked good.

Thanks so much for your review! We'll post the information about the Linux driver patch on the page for this WiFi Module.

    Great wireless dongle

Not compatible with all USB 3.0 motherboards though, make sure to use USB 2.0 compatibility mode or you may risk frying the WiFi module.

Thanks for your review! As far as our experience, this works with all USB2 and USB3 single-board computers that have a compatible driver. If you know of a mainboard that does 'fry' this module, let us know so we can do some testing. Thanks!

    Best range WiFi module

If you need the best range and don't need higher than 2.4GHz, this is the best module. I've tried them all, and this one gets the most range in hard-to-reach areas of my home/business and uses a chipset that is compatible with many/most SBC operating systems.
