Banana Pi BPI-M6
The Banana Pi BPI-M6 is the latest single-board computer from Banana Pi, featuring a Synaptics VS680 with a quad-core Cortex-A73 processor, One Cortex-M3 processor, Imagination GE9920 GPU, and up to 6.75Tops NPU. It comes with 4GB LPDDR4 memory, 16GB eMMC storage, and various interfaces, including 4 USB 3.0, a gigabit network port, HDMI-rx, and HDMI-tx.
Powered by the VideoSmart™ VS680 solution, it's designed for applications like smart displays, cameras, set-top-boxes, and media streamers. The VS680 integrates a Qdeo 4K-video engine, an audio processor with far-field keyword detection, a SyNap deep-learning accelerator (DLA), and an Imagination PowerVR Series9 GPU. The ISP supports HDR for two 4K cameras, enabling tasks like face ID and security monitoring. The DLA, coupled with the dual ISP, runs neural networks on video streams, while the Qdeo engine can drive two displays simultaneously.
The VS680 broadens its application to smart-home devices, including smart displays for video calling and audio processing for smart speakers or sound bars. It handles on-device voice-UI functions and serves as a front end to a cloud-based digital assistant. The device is versatile, capable of powering a 1080p touchscreen panel and simultaneously streaming to a 4K TV.
