KEY FEATURES

  • BETA RELEASE:   You may need to update the firmware for this device, selected functionality or advanced features may not be available on your hub at the time of purchase
  • On/off Z-Wave control for 100-240VAC 50/60 Hz lights up to 5A (don't connect to fans, receptacles, or any heavy duty 240 V loads over 5A)
  • Dry contact switch: connect and control from a wall switch (  NO VOLTAGE ON INPUT  , see diagram), you need load and line in the same box for 3-way installations
  • 800 series Z-Wave chip: fast, secure, and rock solid wireless connectivity
  • Z-Wave Long Range (ZWLR): if your hub implements ZWLR, you'll benefit from the ultra reliable direct device-to-hub communication which extends the range like never before and eliminates network lags
  • Super compact design: fits the most crowded installations, perfect for stacked switches or shallow boxes
  • SmartStart and S2 authenticated security for a truly protected smart home
  • Installs behind the existing wall switch (no Voltage!) or at the light fixture (if neutral is not available in the switch box)
  • Great if you'd like to leave your favorite wall switch style or color but add Z-Wave to it
  • Smart bulb mode: disable manual and/or Z-Wave control to control your smart bulbs via Z-Wave only without cutting power to them
  • Scene control: choose from 7 multi-tap triggers to expand the functionality of the connected switch (available on hubs that support multi-tap triggers*)
  • Compatible with quality LED bulbs (don't connect to ballast tube lights, switched receptacles, or fans; NOTE: FEIT bulbs are not recommended)
  • Multicolor LED indicator for easier troubleshooting
  • Built-in signal repeater: helps keep your network quick and reliable in a traditional Z-Wave mesh

INSTALLATION

Before installing, make sure the load does not exceed the Wattage provided in the specs. Check your wiring first to confirm that you have all the following wires present in your gang box: load (most often black), line (most often black), neutral (most often white), and ground (most often green).

If you are not comfortable identifying the wiring and following the instructions, please hire a licensed electrician.

Here are some helpful wiring tips:

  • For 120 V lighting installations, make sure the gang box you are about to install the switch has a neutral wire available - you will not be able to get the ZEN57 relay to work without a neutral wire. If neutral is not available, you'll need to install the ZEN57 at the light fixture.
  •   Do NOT insert wires larger than 14 AWG to the block terminals on the ZEN57 as this will damage the device.
  • Unlike regular mechanical switches, Z-Wave switches and relays require all of the wires to be connected exactly as indicated - line and load (OUT) wires can never be swapped as it sometimes happens to the most experienced electricians.

SmartStart Inclusion:

Open your hub's app and initiate pairing as usual. Scan the SmartStart QR code on the ZEN57 relay and power it up - it will include automatically. You don't need to click the Z-Wave button unless you're using SmartThings in which case, you may need to activate the relay by tapping the Z-Wave button 3 times quickly.

Manual Inclusion:

  1. Bring your Z-Wave hub or controller as close to the relay as possible
  2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
  3. Click the Z-Wave button on the relay 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion proces
  4. A new on/off switch should appear on your controller's device list
