Blackout Comms System

Securely and privately send encrypted text messages and location data with others in the local area, even when no services are available. Designed to communicate in the absence of internet or cell service.

In addition to text communication, allows secure sharing of GPS location between trusted individuals and links in a private cluster.

Uses LoRa frequencies, advanced mesh algorithms, encryption, and other techniques.

No service or internet required; communicates directly (and via mesh) through the air using encrypted RF signals across multiple LoRa frequencies.

Allows local, secure, text communication, location awareness, and location sharing, with zero need for internet, cell towers, cell service, mobile phones/apps, WiFi, or any centralized/grid-based system.

When devices are in range and a message is sent, communication is instant (happens in seconds). When out of range, messages are delivered as soon as a mesh path becomes available, similar to email.

Messages are securely cached for up to 24 hours until delivery.

All communications occur over LoRa frequencies with strong encryption and digital signatures. Messages are stored encrypted on an SD card.

How It Works

Devices communicate directly if within LoRa range. Out-of-range messages are relayed via mesh networks.

Range depends on factors such as line-of-sight and device locations.
