*Assembled bundles might take 1-3 business days to ship as they need to be assembled and tested.

*Some customers have reported that while moving the Data Disk to an NVMe, the Home Assistant interface may display the NVMe size as "0". Despite this, the moving process still functions correctly. Even if the size remains "0" after the Data Disk has been moved, the "Disk Used Space %" will display accurately, reflecting the correct available space.

At the heart of Home Assistant Yellow is the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4. This plugs into the Home Assistant Yellow board and provides the brains. You can upgrade to a more powerful version of the Compute Module 4 at any time.

Home Assistant Yellow includes the latest and greatest Zigbee radio chip from Silicon Labs to communicate with smart devices in your home. The chip is forward-compatible with the upcoming Matter smart home connectivity standard, in which Silicon Labs is heavily involved. Home Assistant Yellow will be compatible with Matter as soon as the Silicon Labs Matter SDK is released.

Home Assistant Yellow also contains an M.2 extension port. This allows you to easily plug in an NVMe SSD drive to extend the available space.

NOTES

  • Warranty is valid for a period of 4 weeks, starting from the date of receipt of the package.
  • The Home Assistant Yellow is designed for the Compute Module 4 but is compatible with the Compute Module 5. However, when installing a CM5, do not use screws, as they may damage the CM5 board.
  • The existing heatsink fits the Compute Module 5, and the blue thermal pads work but require slight repositioning. The thermal pad for the main chip (BCM2712) is slightly too small, as the chip on the CM5 is larger, but this has minimal impact in practice. Overall, the existing cooling solution works quite well.  That said, the Compute Module 5 generates significant heat under full load. If your system is continuously under high CPU load, the CM5 may throttle performance over time due to heat.

We’re so sorry for the inconvenience caused by the delay in your order. As indicated in our pre-order policy, delays can sometimes occur due to circumstances beyond our control. Raspberry Pi originally promised delivery to us in December 2024, but that date was repeatedly postponed. We updated our product page with the latest information as we received it. We finally received the 16GB RAM CM5 in May 2025 and shipped all pre-orders as quickly as possible. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding, and we’re here to assist with any further concerns!

The first yellow arrived with a dead PoE port, but after contacting support they sent a replacement the next day. Thank you for quickly solving the problem. Couldn’t be happier.
