I have my blue iris cameras set up to control my lights after sunset (controlled through Home Assistant). They do a great job of turning the lights on, but not so good of a job keeping them on if we are just sitting on the sofa. That was the purpose of this device. Keep the lights on if we are stationary. It works flawlessly for this purpose through ZHA and Home assistant. I honestly didn't know this device also had a light sensor until I already received it. I was going to incorporate that into my automation so lights could come on when the room is below a certain brightness, however the sensor doesn't read out lumens when connected to ZHA, it only provides a Light or Dark read out. Additionally this sensor only updates on new motion triggers. So unfortunately I don't really utilize the light sensor but the device works perfectly for my initial need. As always Ameridroid is great. It always makes me smile seeing the hand written note on my receipt and the sour patch kid in the box. It's small things like that that make ordering from a small US based company worth it.
