ThirdReality Soil Moisture Sensor Gen2

The Third Reality Smart Soil Moisture Sensor Gen2 is a Zigbee 3.0 capacitive soil sensor for indoor pots, greenhouses, and garden plants. It reports soil moisture and temperature in real time so Home Assistant can alert you or trigger watering automations. Gen2 adds a reinforced antenna for more stable Zigbee range. A Zigbee hub or coordinator is required.

• Remote Monitoring & Automations: Use Home Assistant to watch moisture levels, send alerts, and trigger irrigation or valves when soil dries out.
• Soil Moisture + Temperature: Reports soil moisture (0–100%) and temperature so you can track hydration and growing conditions together.
• Capacitive Probe: Non-invasive capacitive sensing resists corrosion and is less affected by soil salinity and pH than older resistive probes.
• Simple Setup: Insert the probe to the marked soil line, pull the battery tab, and pair in your Zigbee interface. OTA updates are supported through the hub.
