I'm helping my daughter build an escape room for fun, and we wanted the participants to solve a riddle, placing runestones in a correct orientation (I'm using Sonoff Door/Window sensors for those, also available at ameridroid). When two runestones are placed in the correct position, a deep church bell sound plays over the speaker. When all the runestones are in the correct position, there's a 5 second delay, and then a voice says "Well done, squires" over this. Then, it triggers a box to open up using a Shelly 1 UL and Shelly Manipulator run with a 12V battery. Lots of fun!

When all three sensors are triggered (meaning the runestones are in the correct order and orientation) this triggers a Shelly Manipulator controlled by a Shelly 1 UL which are both also available at ameridroid, and those are both run by a 12V battery that came out of a faulty UPS (battery backup). It's a lot of fun.

So this triggers a Shelly Manipulator also available at ameridroid, and those are both run by a 12V battery that came out of a faulty UPS (battery backup). I just moved the jumper from the AC position to the DC position before hooking it up to the battery, and everything works great!

I watched the garage door opener video and converted my old garage door to use this. Recently, I added a Third Reality Zigbee button and created an automation in Home Assistant to trigger the Shelly 1 UL when the button is double-clicked (to avoid accidental presses in the pocket). Works super fast and awesome!

In the past I had tried a battery powered wifi button, but it took too long for it to negotiate with the router each time it was pressed. No such problem with this!
